Dr Hannah Lancer

Miss Hannah Lancer is a specialist ear, nose and throat surgeon with a particular interest in otology, hearing and ear surgery. Following completion of her specialist training, she was awarded a prestigious TWJ Otology and Neurotology Fellowship in Vancouver, Canada, where she further developed her expertise in complex ear surgery.

Miss Lancer graduated from The University of Sheffield, and undertook her Core Surgical Training in the London Deanery before moving to the West Midlands for Higher Surgical Training. She now undertakes her NHS practice at Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Throughout her training, Miss Lancer has developed a broad range of skills across ENT, alongside extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of ear conditions. Her interest in ear surgery began during medical school, when she undertook specialist ENT electives in the USA at UCLA, Johns Hopkins and the House Institute. Since then, she has continued to develop her skill set through specialist training, research and teaching.

Alongside her clinical work, Miss Lancer has a strong interest in research and academic medicine. She has published 18 journal articles and presented her work at more than 50 national and international meetings.

Education is another important part of Miss Lancer's career. She has a particular passion for teaching and, throughout her higher surgical training, ran the West Midlands ENT Emergency Course, welcoming doctors from across the UK. She also teaches medical students, examines medical school students and contributes as faculty to national ENT courses. She is involved in mentoring junior doctors through both regional and national programmes.

Miss Lancer has also developed a particular interest in surgical leadership and has achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership. She has held several leadership and management positions during her training, alongside her clinical and academic responsibilities.

She is passionate about supporting the next generation of doctors and surgeons and regularly volunteers to speak to school pupils about careers in medicine and surgery.

Above all, Miss Lancer is committed to providing care that is tailored to each individual patient. She understands that problems with hearing and the ears can have a significant impact on everyday life, communication and wellbeing. She aims to ensure that every patient receives thoughtful, individualised care, with clear explanations and support throughout their treatment and in making decisions about their care.
