Dr Giuseppe Rosano

Professor Giuseppe Rosano is a Consultant Cardiologist and Professor of Cardiology at St George’s, University of London, where he also serves as Director of the MSc in Heart Failure. He holds a Professorship in Pharmacology at San Raffaele University in Rome and has held numerous academic positions throughout his career.

Professor Rosano obtained his MD with full honours from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1988, followed by a Specialisation in Cardiology in 1992. He subsequently completed a PhD in Medical Sciences at Imperial College London.

He has served as a core member of the Cardiovascular Working Party of the European Medicines Agency and as a member of the Pricing and Reimbursement Committee of the Italian Drug Agency (AIFA), contributing to regulatory assessments of cardiovascular medicines. He has been board member of the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology, Chair of its Education Committee, and President of the association (2022-2024).  He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Heart Success Foundation.

Professor Rosano’s research and clinical interests include heart failure, cardiac metabolism, cardiovascular pharmacology, chronic coronary syndromes, angina with normal coronary arteries, heart disease in women, and the cardiovascular effects of sex hormones. He has authored over 800 peer-reviewed scientific articles, multiple books, and book chapters, and serves on the editorial boards of leading international cardiology journals.
