Dr. Giuseppe Mainas

Dr Giuseppe Mainas is a specialist in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry with over ten years of experience managing complex periodontal conditions, placing dental implants, and performing advanced bone regeneration procedures. He graduated in 2014 from Alfonso X el Sabio University in Madrid, Spain. In 2015, he moved to Rome to further his training within the Periodontology department at the G. Eastman Dental Hospital.

In 2020, he completed a three-year full-time Master’s Degree in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the International University of Catalunya in Barcelona, an advanced programme accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). He subsequently completed his PhD in Periodontology at King’s College London, further strengthening his academic and clinical expertise in the field.

Dr Mainas provides a comprehensive range of periodontal and implant treatments, including non-surgical and surgical gum therapies, resective procedures, guided tissue regeneration, periodontal plastic surgery, implant placement, guided bone regeneration, sinus elevation procedures, surgical tooth extractions and exposure of impacted teeth.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Mainas is actively involved in academic research. He works within the Periodontology Unit at Guy’s Hospital, King’s College London, contributing to ongoing advancements in periodontal and implant dentistry.

He has received multiple prestigious research awards, including the Osteology Research Academy Education Grants (2019 and 2025), the MRC-IAA Grant (2023), the British Society of Periodontology (BSP) Clinical Fellowship Award (2023), the BSP Research Grant (2024), and the Haleon/ODRT Research Grant (2025). He is first and co-author of numerous scientific publications in national and international dental and medical journals.
