Prior to joining Pure Sports Medicine, having completed post-graduate training with the POGP, he worked as a Highly Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist in the NHS and as a senior physiotherapist in a highly regarded private practice in Camden.
Additionally, George has experience in a wide range of other specialties including Spinal Trauma, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Hydrotherapy, ICU, Respiratory Surgery, Colorectal, Oncology, Gynaecology, Urology, and Obstetrics. George draws on his dynamic experience when treating, and adopts a whole person, holistic approach to physiotherapy.
Originally from Ireland, and as someone who loves adventures and traveling, he honed his skills through various roles in the UK and internationally in the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, and Malta. George studied at the Hanzehoge school, which is the top University for Physiotherapy in the Netherlands, graduating with an Honors Bachelor of Science in International Physiotherapy. He was 1 of 5 in a cohort of 250 to achieve an Honours Degree in Healthy Ageing.
George has helped me tremendously with back pain during my pregnancy. he takes his time to listen to your symptoms and to treat you with much eye for details. He is very knowledgable and really helps you to treat the issues. He explains everything in great details so you're aware what is going on and gives you exercises to do at home. He is super gentle and kind.
Following an injury to my lower back and after consulting a spinal surgeon, I was advised to see Mr George Brassil, a physiotherapist specialised in pelvic and lumbar conditions. From our very first session, George took the time to ask detailed questions to fully understand the issues I was experiencing and to discuss at length both my condition and his proposed approach. His calm and professional demeanour, combined with clear and thorough explanations, helped me better understand my condition. His confidence in my ability to fully recover through physiotherapy also lifted a significant mental burden and allowed me to approach our sessions with a renewed and positive mindset. Over the past four months, I have seen him once a week, and the results have exceeded my expectations. The lower back pain I had been carrying for several months prior to seeing him (pain that was affecting my daily life and at times fully incapacitating) is now completely gone. Through his highly skilled manual work and the use of complementary techniques such as taping and acupuncture, I have regained lost mobility, developed better posture, released a great deal of muscular tension, and become much more aware of my body. At each session, following an initial assessment, George evaluated the state of my body and tailored the treatment accordingly. George is a fantastic and empathetic physiotherapist. His vast medical knowledge, combined with his friendly demeanour meanies patients feel at home. George is astute to his patients’ needs, building excellent rapport with them and then developing a tailored physiotherapy plan with them to help transition to a healthier and more stable lifestyle.
