Mrs Gemma Burrows

Ms. Gemma Burrows is an experienced Oral Surgeon who has been practicing dentistry since 2005. She has gained extensive experience working in NHS hospitals, focusing on oral surgery treatments and managing facial pain and oral medicine conditions.

Ms. Burrows completed her initial training as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Salisbury District Hospital and Poole General Hospital. She later worked as a Staff Grade Oral Surgeon at both Poole General Hospital and Salisbury District Hospital, where she spent 12 years refining her skills. Additionally, she contributed to the Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery service.

During her tenure at Salisbury District Hospital, she served as the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Oral Surgery, overseeing the department's growth and development. Since 2019, she has also taken on the role of educational supervisor and clinical supervisor, helping train new professionals in the field. Ms. Burrows is trained in conscious sedation and regularly uses this technique to help manage anxious patients.

In 2024, Ms. Burrows joined Practice Plus Group Hospital in Southampton, where she continues her work in oral surgery.

Ms. Burrows has participated in regular audits and research during her hospital roles and has presented her findings at national conferences. In 2020, she completed a Quality Improvement Fellowship to enhance the paediatric service at Salisbury District Hospital.
