Dr Sanjay Mehta

Dr Sanjay Mehta graduated from Imperial College London in 2013 and has completed a further Bachelor of Science degree in Haematology. He has since been dual accredited with Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and more recently, Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP).

In 2018, Dr Mehta joined The London General Practice, Harley Street, as a General Practitioner, where he also holds the role of Clinical Audit Lead. Since 2024, he has also been appointed as The London General Practice’s representative for the Medical Advisory Committee for The Harley Street Clinic and Leaders in Oncology.

Dr Mehta initially worked at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals, covering several medical, psychiatric and surgical specialties, prior to undertaking his General Practice Speciality Training within the Oxford deanery, predominantly at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He has since worked in NHS GP practices in both London and Oxford, as well as in COVID hubs during the pandemic. In addition, he has previously worked for a leading private online consultation platform.

Dr Mehta has completed a Diploma of Child Health (DCH) from the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health. He has jointly published original research in the Archives of Disease in Childhood during a paediatric post at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and presented the findings at a national conference at Somerville College, University of Oxford. His clinical interests extend further, as he is also a Diplomate of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and a Diplomate Member of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine (DFSEM(UK)).

In 2021, Dr Mehta was appointed as Specialist Advisor for the Care Quality Commission (CQC), advising on Primary Medical Services and Integrated Care.

Dr Mehta has acted as a Medical Consultant for the BBC and regularly comments in the national press, including The Times and The Telegraph, on various health topics.
