The embolization procedure was a much preferred option for me than a more intrusive hysterectomy. It was quick, minimum discomfort and amazingly effective, in that the considerable reduction in my very heavy periods was virtually instant. I would go as far as to say it was life-changing and I have never looked back. The procedure not only saw me through until after the menopause, when my periods would stop anyway, but now 15 years down the line, still the fibroids remain ‘shrunk’ and not causing me any issues. I would recommend the procedure to anyone faced with multiple or large fibroids that have a considerable impact on your life and well-being. Dr Crowe could not have done more or been more accommodating.

Dr. Crowe is an exceptional interventional radiologist. His professionalism throughout my embolisation procedure for fibroids was outstanding. From his clear and thorough explanation of the procedure to his impeccable bedside manner, Dr. Crowe made me feel completely at ease. I'm grateful for his expertise and compassionate care. As I return in a few months, I am hopeful the fibroids will have shrunk, allowing my husband and I to progress our family plans. I would highly recommend him.

I selected Dr Crowe after interviewing what I thought were the top four radiologists in London. He came across as the most knowledgeable, up-to-date and importantly, he was totally honest and detailed in his answers to my questions - a quality that is difficult to find. Because of my condition, I had been going through hell for a long time. Finally opted for a UAE with him, for profuse adenomyosis and fibroids, and I’m so glad I chose him. The procedure was successful and painless (followed his instructions), his aftercare was excellent and I was up and about after two days. I even walked to get my groceries! Four days later, my life activities were back to normal. I was just a bit tired, as my body recuperated. He makes you feel safe and makes sure you are fine before and after the procedure. He has a great team and I couldn’t be happier. He truly goes beyond the call of duty for you. Previously, I was dreading the UAE, as I had heard horror stories, and was scared of the pain and the length of the recovery period. Well, now I know that going to the dentist would have been more traumatic. A month later, I continued to have no pain and felt fine. To my knowledge, and after my experience, I believe he is the best Interventional radiologist in the UK for gynaecological conditions and vascular diseases. I highly recommend him.

I have always struggled with extremely heavy bleeding due to fibroids, polyps etc. my gynae suggested hysterectomy maybe my only real option. But I decided to try UFE. I had a great first consultation Dr Crowe after the MRI. He patiently answered all my questions and also very honestly said that it is difficult to say whether the procedure would reduce my bleeding, as I had multiple issues. But at the very least it would shrink and stop the fibroids from growing. I had the procedure at the priory hospital. Dr Crowe explained what to expect, very clearly, before procedure. I was very well cared for before, during and after the procedure. Dr Crowe visited several times to check I’m ok. His team was also fantastic. Morphine drip helped with pain relief during the overnight stay. Recovery at home was uneventful and I was back working after a couple of weeks. Now 3 months after, my bleeding is definitely more manageable than what it was, but not light. I’m hoping it will get even better with time. As it’s way less invasive than hysterectomy and needs way less recovery and has no lasting bad effects, it’s definitely worth trying UFE first!

I had the privilege of being treated by Dr. Paul Crowe. Six years ago, I was diagnosed with fibroids in my uterus. Despite trying various natural nutritional approaches and undergoing a myomecmtomy, my fibroids returned. I then underwent Uterine Artery Embolisation treatment administered by Dr. Paul Crowe, which has delivered remarkable results, reducing my fibroids by approx. 80%. I now experience increased energy levels, ongoing improvement in my iron levels, and the fibroids are continuing to shrink. It felt like a true lifeline. I am sincerely grateful for Dr. Crowe's expertise, professionalism, and for the opportunity to regain my well-being

Dr Paul Crowe is a pioneer and I believe the best radiologist in the UK. I would not go to anybody else. After suffering awful experiences with another consultant I was recommended to Paul and as soon as I first spoke with him felt immediately at ease and in safe hands. He is kind, calm, warm, very approachable and happy to take time to explain the issues and procedure and answer any questions. I found him to be extremely containing and reassuring at a very stressful time and completely trustworthy and professional. I had a fibroid embolisation which despite my case being quite extreme has given me incredible results - beyond anything I could have hoped for. He has been there to answer any questions I’ve had along the way in aftercare - he genuinely cares about his patients. Highly recommended!

Dr Crowe was absolutely excellent in every way. Whilst my procedure was under a local anesthetic, I could not see what he was doing, he has a wonderful way of communicating with you to advise what is happening but moreover advises you in advance were he is at and when to expect any discomfort. He was spot-on every time. A really nice guy too.

After a pointless wait at the HNS, I found Mr Crowe in the internet, and I was reassured as he has been carrying this procedure for a very long time (he is one of the pioneers). He has very good feedback from previous patients. I first met him during the MRI diagnosis, and in a few minutes I was confident that I could work with him. Mr Crowe was very clear with his explanations and had a handout brochure about UAE which I found very useful. His secretary always reponds to emails / queries so you are never too far away from an answer which is very reassuring from a patient point of view. He came to see me a couple of times post procedure and in the next morning to discharge. I think that he has been doing this for a long time but he still cares about his patients!

He was kind, clear and accessible, esp since I needed to call him before the surgery due to a personal circumstance which meant a possibility of rescheduling. He saw me three times, outside of the surgery and was clear and cheerful. As promised I experienced minimal discomfort. I look forward to my follow up in 6 months and an all-clear prognosis
