Dr Tim Poate

Dr Timothy Poate is a Consultant in Oral Medicine, based at King's College Hospital in London and he also sees patients privately at HCA at The Shard and The Lister Hospital. He completed dental training at Guy's Hospital in 1990 and then undertook medical training at St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1996. Dr Poate then returned to Guy's for specialist training in Oral Medicine.

He has considerable experience in the management of facial pain and runs a facial pain clinic at King's College. A particular interest in the management of patients with temporomandibular joint disorder and Burning Mouth Syndrome.

Dr Poate has experience in the full range of Oral Medicine, including ulceration, lichen planus, oral mucosal lesions, lumps and bumps in the mouth, disorders of the tongue, pre-malignant conditions, white patches, red patches, dry mouth, taste disorders, orofacial granulomatosis and oral manifestation of systemic disease and drugs.
