Dr Joseph was the R.D Lawrence Research Fellow in Diabetes at the King's College School of Medicine and Dentistry, London, where he carried out crucial research work into hepatic and renal glucose counterregulation during hypoglycaemia in humans.
In 2001 Dr Joseph was appointed Consultant in General Medicine/Diabetes and Endocrinology.
