He routinely conducts specialised diagnostic procedures, including electroencephalography (EEG) for evaluating cerebral activity, electromyography (EMG), and nerve conduction studies (NCS). Additionally, he possesses expertise in paediatric neurophysiology and the interpretation of evoked potential studies.
Dr Taggart completed his undergraduate medical education at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, obtaining a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours in 1992 and his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degrees in 1993. Following general medical training, he attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997. He subsequently undertook higher specialist medical training in clinical neurophysiology between 1998 and 2002. He maintains active professional affiliation with the Royal College of Physicians.
