I felt la rapport, felt listened to, received explanations ( which I always welcome) and clear plan. I was surprised how good the written summary of our conversation was as my experience with others is often me reading it and saying nope, that’s not what I said. In this case it was very comprehensive which is reassuring.
Dr Marlowe was pleasant and professional. She explained what she was testing and why and her examination was thorough.
I have had the best experience so far with dr Marlowe, she has been very very thorough, kind and understanding. I have still a way to go but know I have the right support from Dr Marlowe and Will provide me with the best care. I have had experience with previous private doctors and none have been as thorough and honest and want to get down to the bottom of things as Quickly and sufficiently as possible I thank Dr Marlowe and wouldn’t be able to start my new health journey without her
Dr Sharon Marlowe was extremely thorough and clearly explained everything as we went along. She made me very comfortable, it felt safe that someone was trying to help me. I got very emotional explaining my day to day life with my symptoms and they were so patient listening to me
Dr. Marlowe interrogated me very well and asked for detail of previous test results (which some other consultants had not done) to gain a well-informed overall picture of my medical condition. She was impressive in identifying and analysing the elements of my condition to generate ideas as to its possible causes, and she was clear in her explanations. She also showed a willingness - indeed an enthusiasm - to work on my condition with another specialist consultant so that her expertise in infectious diseases (including specifically her knowledge of Nepal-sourced diseases) could be combined with the other consultant's broader gastro-enterology specialism.
Since I was 14 I kept going to the doctors as I had over whelming fatigue. I always got detentions at school for arriving late as I could never get myself out of bed no matter how much sleep I had. I dropped out of all sport as I couldn’t keep up. For years it was blamed on menstrual cycles , exams , stress and a levels every blood test would come back low iron and I would be dismissed. My family felt helpless seeing a young girl unable to keep up with life. for years I felt unseen and un heard no matter how much I pushed the GPs. I heard of dr Sharon Marlowe through my cardiologist I saw at the time. I believed I had a condition called ME. But me was a ‘easy’ label to give to patients when you still don’t know what’s wrong with them only that they are chronically tired and there’s no fix for me. In a hour dr Marlowe gave me a diagnosis of pots. An hour, is all it took to be listen to and understood. In comparison to 6 years of going to the GP. Since then Dr Marlowe has happily requested for any tests she and I felt necessary. I had chronic migraines for years and felt like I wanted to have a brain mri to put my mind at peace. Dr Marlowe was happy and is always happy with any request I’ve ever asked for or felt I’ve needed for clarity. I am massively needle phobic and therefore didn’t want to see her at first due to needing more blood test. But she completely understood and didn’t make me feel silly for being so scared. Instead she prescribed me diazepam which massively helped with getting the results I needed. Dr Marlowe leaves no stone unturned everything is thou...
Read moreDr Marlowe listened intently to any of my explanations. She had obviously reviewed information I sent to her prior to my consultation. I didn’t feel rushed, despite the extent of my medical issues and she explained everything extremely clearly. I found her empathy especially welcome.
Dr Marlowe has been described as a rare find and I can agree. I went to her with a ray of symptoms and feeling systemically unwell. During the process she was methodical and clearly knew exactly the things that needed to be tested for, despite me insisting I knew what was wrong with me. I didn’t of course and Dr Marlowe encouraged me to trust the process which I did. As a result she was able to provide me with a probable diagnosis and signpost me to the relevant specialist for support. I am so grateful. In addition to this, Dr Marlowe was easy to talk to and I felt listened to throughout. Her professionalism shone through whilst also providing a safe environment where I felt heard. Thank you.
Excellent consultation with Dr Marlowe - wonderful to be listened to, she takes the time to address any concerns, carries out a through assessment and has recommended further tests.
