About Dr Robin Lawrence
Dr Robin Lawrence is an Adult Consultant Psychiatrist with decades of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of Psychological Medicine, and has practiced since 1997 from his clinic at 96 Harley Street.
Dr Lawrence completed his training in Medicine and Surgery at Birmingham University in 1980, he then went on to become a Member of the Royal College of Medicine and then the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is on the GMC Specialist Register for Psychiatry. Dr Lawrence has extensive experience in the understanding and treatment of mental illness, having worked as a Lecturer and Senior Lecture in Psychiatry, completed his psychiatric training at the Maudsley Hospital and he became a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry at St Thomas's Hospital in 1990. There he developed the Briston Road Community Mental Health Centre and has worked for many years as a senior mental health professional in the NHS and in Private Practice.
Dr Lawrence provides an outpatient treatment service where consultations are conducted at his Harley Street office. If in-patient care is necessary he will always refer to the most suitable treatment centre. Offering a combined psychiatry and psychotherapeutic service enables him to address patients' immediate, often debilitating, symptoms, as well as facilitate longer-term change if indicated and/or desired.

I consulted Dr Lawrence about an episode of amnesia that I had suffered at a time of great stress. He had a kind and understanding manner that soon put me at my ease, and enabled me to talk freely about my physical as well as mental health history. He has also been very helpful to my adult son, for whom I am sole carer. I was sent a 13-page comprehensive and very clear report the following day.
I have been under the care of Dr Robin Laurence for 10 years , Robin diagnosed me saved my life from one of the most dangerous horrific forms of Bipolar and depresion illness that rarely people survive or doctors can treat not only did he save my life he has been involved in me rebuilding my life he has had my back and been in my corner and gone to any lengths possible with the upmost kindness and respect ,when ever I have needed his help he has been there one of the greatest gifts he and 96 harley street has given me is the gift of hope against an illness that tried to kill me through suicide where I did not want to live for that I am ever gratefull.I would also like it to be known the practice of 96 Harley street and there staff also hold the same principles as Robin there service and professionalism is second to none but it also based on compassion and firm principles of integrity honesty and genuine care.Battling a mental illness can be a question of a life or death battle I was also misdiagnosed by the NHS and Robins diagnosis and expertise was the correct one and path I followed and I am only here today because of it.Lastly I would like to say Robin has allways worked allongside me in my treatment and the Dr patient team work has been the difference of make or break.Writing this today I am on the caribean coast in Mexicos paradise alive safe and well it took years to get to this point but both myself and Robin never gave up.Thank you with Love Robin Laurance and all at 96 Harley street .
