Working with Liz has been life-changing. She is warm, empathetic, and she created a space where I never felt like something was wrong with me - only that I was learning to understand myself better. This approach alone builds a great foundation for self-esteem which is key to doing the work and putting the tools in place. She’s incredibly grounding and has a real gift for bringing things back to reality, offering straightforward solutions to problems that once felt overwhelming. Liz got me through some major life events, and I’m incredibly grateful for her support and would recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and deeply skilled therapist.
I had a recurrence of obsessional ocd and anxiety that was almost 100% under control for 25years. It suddenly came back and my usual coping mechanisms just didn’t seem to work this time. I found myself in a constant state of panic for 3 months and really didn’t know what to do since I hadn’t seen a specialist for 25years. I contacted Dr Liz White and started therapy once per week initially. Therapy has moved a way since I last had it and Liz has some new concepts that I wasn’t aware of. Liz is extremely calming and I instantly felt I could trust her with what are quite intrusive thoughts and at a time when I was at my lowest. Amazingly it took only the first session for me to start unwinding some of the habits that had crept back in. And I saw instant results. 3 month after our first session I was completely clear of all of the ocd and anxiety I was experiencing. 6 months has passed now and I feel 100% normal which I could never have imagined when I was tied in knots having panic attacks before. I cannot thank Liz enough and highly recommend her as a therapist
I’ve had therapy for a long time before visiting Liz, and it’s never really equipped me to effectively deal with OCD. The therapy that Liz has provided, however, has been completely transformative. She is patient, well articulated, insightful, and so knowledgeable when it comes to OCD; I’ve seen such a marked improvement to my every day life and I’m so so grateful. Thank you Liz!
Dr Liz White saved my life in many ways, and this is said without hyperbole.
I would just like to say how excellent my experience was with Dr Liz White. I have been seeing her for a year and she has been brilliant. I found her extremely easy to talk to. She has a very professional manner and puts you at ease immediately so you can discuss problems/concerns. She also is very good at making you think and explore thoughts and feelings. I would highly recommend her as a psychologist and will always be grateful for all her help and support with my recovery.
My experience with Dr Liz allowed me to approach the next stage of my life with more confidence and peace. I was apprehensive at first as I hadn’t sought therapy in many years, but Dr Liz was able to take things at my pace whilst providing incredible guidance. I truly don’t know what I’d done without this part of my journey.
Dr Liz White explained in detail what was happening to me and gave me tools that helped me to understand it, accept it and be kinder with myself. She is very professional and her diagnosis of what happened to me was very accurate every time we talked
Liz was brilliant in our CBT sessions. Really understanding and experienced in the issues I presented. Advice provided was always brought to life with examples of real life situations.
Dr Liz White is an exceptional therapist. She guided me through a very stressful and emotional 10 months. She took me from survival mode to thriving. At every step of the way her advice and support was measured, considered, but also gently challenging. She helped me understand myself, my emotions, my reactions and my strengths. She helped me strand in my own two feet and helped me smile again. I will be forever grateful to her. She is one of my angels. I’d highly recommend talking to Dr Liz if you need clarity in life or to rediscover your own happiness.

If you live with OCD, you’ve probably had that moment - the one where your mind says: “This isn’t OCD. This one feels different.” In this video, I break down why OCD thoughts feel so disturbingly real, why your brain keeps insisting “not this time,” and how to recognise the exact moment you’re getting hooked into the doubt cycle. We’ll look at: ⭐ Why intrusive thoughts feel like evidence ⭐ How the brain’s error-detection system misfires in OCD ⭐ The role of the Feared Possible Self (iCBT) ⭐ Why ego dystonic thoughts feel so personal ⭐ How compulsions make the fear feel truer ⭐ Two examples - harm + relationship themes (note: the vignettes in this video are fictional, designed to represent the kinds of cycles many people with OCD experience) ⭐ What actually helps you break the cycle If you struggle with intrusive thoughts, ROCD, harm OCD, real event rumination, or the “what if this one isn’t OCD” fear - this will make sense of why your thoughts feel so intense and what actually reduces their power.
