Dr Jeff Summers

Dr. Jeffery Summers is a senior Consultant Oncologist, having worked at the Kent Oncology Centre Maidstone Hospital for 18 years, seeing between 400 and 500 new patients annually with excellent results in their care. He is a core member of four West Kent Multidisciplinary Teams, with a special interest in treating and managing patients with anocolorectal cancers, gynaecological cancers and lymphomas.

Dr. Summers also provides a specialised radiotherapy service to the West Kent Lymphoma Group. In addition to his work, he prevalent in the area of research also, acting as Principal Investigator for a number of randomised clinical trials and has been Network Lead for gynaecological cancer research. Dr. Summers is also a Trial Management Group member for international Gynaecological randomised clinical trial.

As well as his work on clinical trials, Dr. Summers is also the lead for anal cancer for the Bowel Cancer TSSG and has recently published work on Translational Research in internationally peer reviewed journals to maintain his interest in Chemo-radiotherapy and personalised medicine.

Dr Summers has been instrumental in the introduction of Intensity Modulated Chemo-Radiotherapy for this tumour subtype at Kent Oncology Centre. He is the Trust's Consultant appraiser and educational supervisor for clinical oncology trainees.
