Very easy going and clear in his approach to my injections

I had surgery in December 2023 with Dr. Makalanda. He was attentive, detailed and thorough. He was clear in his communication and explanations of what my diagnosis was, what would be needed in surgery and any possible complications or risks. He did not promise me that surgery would solve or fix the hearing loss issues in my head but I felt safe and comfortable to move forward since I trusted Dr. Makalanda. He was the first doctor to not dismiss my health concerns or make me feel inferior (compared to other referrals I had prior). In the end, the surgery did solve the hearing loss and tinnitus that I was experiencing since it was an issue with my blood flow and veins; not ENT. Would highly recommend to any patient looking for Dr. Makalanda's expertise and skills.

I had the pleasure to meet Dr Makalanda after being referred for a CT guided injection . I was pretty nervous and Dr Makalanda put me at ease by explaining the procedure. He was very calm which helped me to relax . The procedure was really quick and pain free ! My report was sent the same day . I would highly recommend Dr Makalanda .

I am very fortunate to have had Dr Makalanda as my consultant. He was very attentive, explained my situation and my options and walked me through my scans to help me visualise the issue. He was happy to answer any question and spend the time that was needed for me to feel fully informed. He initially performed an angiogram and his manner during the procedure put me at ease and he walked through the results shortly after with me and my wife. My operation was an embolisation of an arteriovenous malformation of the brain and going in to the operation I felt very confident that I was in the best hands which put me at ease. Follow up was as attentive and detailed and if I had any concerns, I was able to check in. Patricia, his medical secretary, was very efficient and prompt with my bookings, scheduling and questions. Going through any serious procedure is naturally stressful and worrying, however having Dr Makalanda as my consultant gave me confidence that I had the best team on my side and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his expertise.

I was referred to Dr. Makalanda regarding an AVM. From the moment I first met him for a consultation and conversation about my condition to the meeting after my surgery he was excellent. He is very level-headed, clear, experienced, calming and despite this being a complex surgery, he put me and my wife at ease throughout the process. He also went above and beyond dealing with my private health insurance to ensure they fully understood the procedure and the rationale for the approach. I would highly recommend working with D. Makalanda.

Dr Makalanda is one of the 'good guys' in this World. A large aneurysm was found during a routine MRI before cosmetic surgery to my face. I was understandably devastated and frightened but Dr Makalanda outlined my options in the simplest way, with compassion and understanding. Whether you are are a Private patient or NHS you will receive the same first class treatment. Pat (Dr Makalandas Secretary) is a perfect compliment to the team and goes the extra mile to ensure that everything goes smoothly. Would I recommend Dr Makalanda YES 100% You are safe in his caring hands and will feel absolutely NO PAIN. Wendy T

An amazing doctor who has an impeccable nature and bedside manner. He took the time to explain to me about every little part of the procedures I was having. He answered every question several times from both my husband and in person and over the phone. He always went above and beyond with how he dealt with me before, during and after both procedures, I remained his number one priority even when he wasn't on shift or call (as I was poorly). I would 100% recommend Dr Makalanda to help you. For me, he saved my life and I don't think he'll ever know just how much. Thank you 😊
