Mrs Dalia Said is a vastly experienced and highly trained consultant ophthalmologist in Nottingham University Hospital (NUH) with a special interest in cornea and ocular surface, cataract, lens and refractive surgery.
After finishing her MBChB in 1994, Masters degree in 1998 and MD degree 2005, Mrs Said continued to peruse her career internationally in both Egypt and England. She became a Professor in the Research Institute of Ophthalmology in Cairo, Egypt in 2014. Whilst working in Egypt she gained extensive experience in managing complex corneal infections, performing refractive surgery and was at the forefront of collagen cross-linking for infections and keratoconus.
During her training, she completed two corneal and ocular surface fellowships and an oculoplastic fellowship at the Nottingham University Hospital before being appointed as a substantive consultant in 2014. She has been appointed as an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor with the university of Nottingham in 2017
Mrs Said has published over 65 peer reviewed research papers as well as well as written book chapters in multiple cornea and ocular surface specialized books. She has presented her research in multiple international meetings as well as given lectures in national and international meeting as invited speaker.
Mrs Said has performed thousands of cataract operations as well as being an experienced surgeon in all cornea and ocular surface, and lens replacement and refractive procedures.

Serving as Consultant Ophthalmologist and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Nottingham. Treating simple to complex cases of eye diseases affecting the front half of the eye. Providing advanced medical treatments for Dry Eyes, conjunctivitis, corneal inflammation and infection and Surgical treatments for Cataract, Keratoconus, Corneal scars and other surgery including refractive lens exchange, Phakic implants, corneal transplants, stem cell graft and amniotic membrane grafts.
