About Dr CT Pillai
Dr Pillai became the Medical Director of Precision Vision London after gaining extensive experience in refractive surgery as a consultant for several well-known clinics in the UK, he has led his own private clinic and has worked as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon for numerous NHS hospitals in the UK and hospitals in India.
Dr Pillai's wealth of knowledge is unsurpassed as he is one of the few surgeons in the country to have both a corneal and refractive fellowship. He has over 30 years of ophthalmic experience and has performed over 50,000 LASIK, LASEK and PRK laser procedures. He is considered to be one of the most experienced laser eye surgeons in his field and was one of the first surgeons in the country to perform bilateral laser eye surgery. His surgical skills and record of very low complication rates have been widely applauded in specialist journals such as Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Eye, IOVS, Optician and Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr Pillai expertise and service are in regular demand, he presents papers and lectures at national and international refractive conferences and is extensively published in peer-reviewed journals.

I've had a couple fo consultations at different clinics. My consultation with Dr Pillai was extremely thorough. He is very friendly and answered all my questions. I first met Dr Pillai in 2017 for my ICL treatment and found his level of personal service and care to be unparalleled. Other clinics had suggested laser treatment, whilst Dr Pillai was the only surgeon who advised against it due to the high risk with my prescription. Throughout the surgery, I felt well looked after and Dr Pillai answered all my questions calmly and reassuringly. A few months post-ICL, unfortunately I had a freak accident playing table tennis which affected my vision. I went back to Dr Pillai who quickly organised a team for an emergency procedure (free of charge!) and this saved my vision! In my recent visit to Dr Pillai last week (2024), his attention to detail remained impressive. He took the time to thoroughly explain and show the scan results, ensuring a comprehensive consultation. Unlike other clinics where you're treated like a number, Dr Pillai genuinely cares for his patients. Overall, I find Dr. Pillai to be exceptionally honest and trustworthy.
