Dr Alun Evans

Dr Alun Evans has over 20 years' experience as a Consultant Dermatologist. Qualifying in London in 1994, Dr Evans began his speciality training at St John's Institute of Dermatology. Here, he also undertook a clinical fellowship in Dermatological Surgery. His specialist accreditation with the GMC was granted in 2003 and a year later he accepted a consultant post at the Princess of Wales and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals eventually becoming Clinical Lead.

He has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer but also has a range of experience treating general dermatological conditions. In addition to his clinical work, he has authored and co-authored over 28 peer reviewed articles and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, British Association of Dermatologists and the British Society of Dermatological Surgery.   In 2007 he received the Chief Executive's award for innovation for his introduction of a GP camera referral scheme across the Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot areas. In 2015 he led the Team of the Year at the Annual Health Board Awards for his work on Dermatology Screening Clinics.
