About Mr Damian Bull
Mr Damian Bull is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee surgery. His NHS practice is based at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to medical training, Mr Bull completed a degree in engineering & spent time working for a multinational engineering firm in Switzerland. His background in engineering naturally led to an interest in orthopaedic surgery. He gained his medical degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and completed trauma and orthopaedic surgical training in the Yorkshire and Humber region. During his training, he also completed a national leadership and management fellowship.
Mr Bull has specialised in the management of knee disorders through two renowned fellowships. His first fellowship was with Professor Nick London and Mr David Duffy at Harrogate & District Hospital, followed by a further fellowship at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol with Mr James
Robinson and Mr James Murray. His fellowship experience has allowed him to experience the breadth of modern arthroplasty and soft tissue techniques. He has developed specialist expertise in sports injuries, ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, early arthritis treatment, patello-femoral joint disorders and joint replacement surgery (partial and total).
He was appointed as a consultant specialist knee surgeon at Harrogate District Hospital in 2021.
Mr Bull is involved in teaching trainee surgeons and holds a postgraduate certificate in medical education. He is actively involved in research with numerous publications and has delivered multiple national and international presentations.

I saw Damien for a 6 month view after having a partial knee replacement in August 2025. As always Damien is very professional, always interested in how you are progressing and very approachable .

Arthroscopy procedure after previous physio treatment didn't improve problem. Operaton has improved situation, just taking a bit longer than I'd hoped to get back to near normal (that's down to me. Not the treatment)
