Ms Angela Docherty

Ms Angela Docherty is a dedicated Advanced Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of experience in paediatric nursing, predominantly within specialist surgical departments. She began her career with initial nurse training before pursuing advanced academic qualifications to enhance her clinical expertise.

Following Ms Docherty’s initial nurse training she gained a Bachelors degree in Child Health Studies and later earned a Masters degree in Advanced Practice. 

Throughout her career, Angela has maintained a focus on high-quality surgical care for children. More recently, she has developed a specialised interest in community-based paediatric procedures completing training in plastibell circumcision. She is committed to providing safe procedures and pleasant experiences for babies and their families. 

Ms Docherty is a co-founder of the Scottish Infant Religious & Circumcision Service (SIRCCS), and plays a key role in delivering a tailored service that respects both clinical safety and cultural requirements from consultation to treatment as well as providing post treatment follow-up care.
