Dr. Andreas Tridimas

Dr Andreas Tridimas is a Consultant in Chemical Pathology and Metabolic Medicine based in the North West. Since qualifying from the University of Nottingham in 2010, he has developed extensive expertise in the management of complex lipid disorders and metabolic health. His clinical practice is deeply rooted in the philosophy of preventative medicine, moving beyond reactive treatment to focus on enhancing patient healthspan.

He is particularly recognised for his work in cardiovascular risk assessment and is the creator of a specialised clinical tool dedicated to Lipoprotein(a) interpretation. He developed the tool to help address a perceived gap in patients’ access to clear interpretation and practical advice about Lipoprotein(a), particularly in relation to inherited cardiovascular risk factors.

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr Tridimas is an active contributor to the field of lipidology through research and national conference reporting. His recent research has demonstrated that routine Lipoprotein(a) testing in UK clinics can meaningfully alter patient management, identifying residual dyslipidaemia that may be resistant to standard therapy and prompting interventions including medication optimisation, reinforcement of lifestyle measures and greater emphasis on lifelong lipid-lowering treatment.

He remains a passionate advocate for earlier testing and the integration of preventative strategies within primary care settings to stop disease before it progresses. His approach is centred on using data-driven risk assessment and targeted prevention to improve long-term cardiovascular health and reduce the burden of preventable disease.
