Mr Amitabh Thacoor is a London-trained, board-certified Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon appointed at St George's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with a special interest in all aspects of the diagnosis and advanced surgical management of skin cancer, including melanoma. He also sees patients privately in central London on Harley Street (9 Harley Street and Weymouth Street Hospital), in Sloane Square (Cadogan Clinic) and in Battersea (REAL clinic).
Mr Thacoor undertook all his general and plastic surgical training in London on the prestigious Pan-Thames rotation at several centres of excellence including Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals, Great Ormond Street Hospital and St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery amongst others before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and joining the GMC Specialist Register. Mr Thacoor subsequently completed an aesthetic surgery fellowship at Weymouth Street Hospital in central London focusing on facial cosmetic surgery.
Mr Thacoor has a keen interest in teaching and research, having published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored several book chapters. He was awarded the prestigious Martin Kelly Prize from the Royal Society of Medicine in 2017 for work on cosmetic surgery tourism and targeted muscle reinnervation.

Lovely doctor who was very patient with my elderly mum who has dementia. He also did a fantastic plastic surgery, very skilled and a ‘lovely job’! You can’t even tell mum has had the surgery on her ear!
A very comfortable experience. Mr Thacoor, Carole & Mr Thacoor'sassistant (my apologies I didn't get the ladies name) made me feel very at ease. My procedure was explained thoroughly and I honestly never felt anything what so ever during the process. Upon being asked to look at the closure it was amazing you would never had known I had the surgery. I was then explained the aftercare, so I can honestly say it was fantastic from start to finish so thank you so much.
Mr Thacoor was very pleasant and kind. My husband is moderately frail, everyone there was very nice to him.
Dr. Thacoor was very friendly, knowledgeable, explained the process very well and made me feel relaxed about my minor operation. Full marks to the supporting nurse, who was excellent and to Mia for welcoming me and answering questions on my concerns. Overall a truly excellent team. Thank you!
