About Mr Ahmed Emam
Mr Ahmed Emam is a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon based at HMT Santa Maria Hospital in Swansea and St. Joseph's Hospital in Newport. He also has NHS bases in Swansea and Cardiff.

Mr Emam gained his MBBCh from Alexandria University, Egypt in 2008 before undertaking plastic surgery training, covering all aspects of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. Following this, he spent a year as a specialist at one of the largest aesthetic surgery centres in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, before moving to the UK to a large plastic surgery unit, where he gained expertise in skin cancer treatment, hand surgery, soft tissue oncology, and breast and microsurgery.
He also undertook a breast reconstruction fellowship, where he gained experience in all aspects of microsurgical breast reconstruction and aesthetic breast procedures. Furthermore, he undertook a limb reconstruction fellowship at Southmead Hospital, training in complex acute limb reconstruction and the management of bone infection.
Mr Emam has completed more than 3,000 surgical procedures including over 600 that involved complex microsurgical reconstruction. He is also involved in research and has published a number of scientific articles in the field of plastic surgery throughout his career. Additionally, he is a faculty member of a number of plastic surgery courses and teaches at both undergraduates and postgraduate level.
