Dr. Ahmad Allam

Dr Ahmad Allam is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at Edinburgh Psychiatry with extensive experience supporting individuals across a wide range of mental health conditions. After graduating with an MB BCh from Ain Shams University in 2012, he developed his career across Egypt, England, and Scotland, gaining valuable insight into the ways culture, identity, and lived experience can influence mental wellbeing.

Dr Allam specialises in the assessment and treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality difficulties, trauma-related conditions, psychotic illnesses, and neurodevelopmental disorders. His clinical approach is grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the biological, psychological, and social factors that shape mental health, allowing him to provide thoughtful, individualised care tailored to each person's circumstances.

A native Arabic speaker, Dr Allam is particularly passionate about creating a culturally informed and inclusive environment for Arabic-speaking individuals seeking mental health support.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Allam has a strong interest in forensic psychiatry and the complex relationship between mental health and the legal system. He is also actively involved in medical education, having completed a postgraduate teaching qualification and held honorary teaching positions at British medical schools, where he contributes to the training and development of future healthcare professionals.
