The Scottish Vein Centre

The Scottish Vein Centre is Scotland’s longest established dedicated private varicose vein clinic, based in Edinburgh. Established in 2006, it is an independent, office-based practice specialising exclusively in leg veins and providing non-surgical treatments for varicose veins and thread veins.

The clinic offers a range of treatments, including endovenous laser treatment (EVLT/EVLA), ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy and microsclerotherapy for thread veins. Treatment is provided on a walk-in, walk-out basis without general anaesthetic or hospital admission.

Patients undergo a detailed ultrasound scan at their first visit. The specialist responsible for treatment also performs the scan, with the results and available treatment options discussed during the appointment. Treatment is selected following the patient's first detailed assessment and personal preference.

The Scottish Vein Centre is regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. In July 2024, the clinic achieved an exceptional grading in all three categories assessed by the independent healthcare regulator.
