About The ADHD Advocate

The ADHD Advocate was founded in 2018 by CEO Stephanie Camilleri. Following the diagnosis of her daughter and subsequently her own diagnosis, Stephanie left her position as a Magic Circle lawyer in banking with a mission to educate and inspire people to understand and embrace ADHD. Thus, The ADHD Advocate was established.

Stephanie's passion for raising ADHD awareness in education, healthcare, and the workplace led her to provide advocacy, training, and coaching services, benefiting not only individuals with ADHD but also their families and employers. In recent years, the rate of ADHD diagnosis has surged, and its recognition is more widespread than ever. However, significant progress is still needed.

The COVID-19 pandemic placed unprecedented demands on individuals and organisations, highlighting the mental health challenges associated with neurodiversity. There remains a lack of understanding of ADHD in both adults and children, across home, workplace, healthcare, and educational settings. It is crucial for individuals with ADHD to receive support to understand their neurology and harness their strengths.

Without support, people with ADHD are at higher risk of school exclusion, dropping out of university, work-related issues, relationship breakdowns, physical health problems, crime, substance abuse, poor mental health, and suicide. Recognising the broad scope of this challenge, Stephanie assembled a team of coaches to help.

The team at The ADHD Advocate brings a diverse range of experience and specialisms, with many members accredited by The ADD Coaching Academy (ADDCA). All coaches have either lived experience of ADHD or close family members with ADHD. This perspective of lived experience is immensely helpful to clients, as evidenced by numerous testimonials.

The ADHD Advocate offers a variety of services, including one-on-one coaching for individuals such as parents, school children, GCSE and A-Level students, university students, employees, and entrepreneurs. They also provide advocacy and support for employers of individuals with ADHD, including awareness training and workplace coaching. Each coach has personal experience with ADHD, either having it themselves or through close family connections, which allows them to understand and support their clients effectively.

Many of the coaches have trained with the ADD Coaching Academy, one of only two ADHD coaching training providers in the world with ICF accreditation. The ADHD Advocate's strengths-based and evidence-based approach, coupled with consistent results, has made them leaders in the industry.
