Steps Together - Elizabeth House

I went to Elizabeth House because I was expecting an excellent treatment programme especially considering that it costs a pretty penny to say the least. There were some fairly good things about it and some of the staff were really kind and caring but overall I had mixed feelings about my time there and I think the people in charge need to think about the difference between how much it costs and what you actually get. The therapy programme felt like it was repeating itself a lot with the same groups and topics coming up over again. A lot of the times, it did not feel like it was tailored to my needs, which's what I expected from a private treatment place. Especially considering this price rate I expected variety and depth in the programme and I expected the therapy to be more focused on my needs. The therapy team was good but lacked the neccessary variety. The day to day environment though actually just really compounds it. The weekly shopping budget for residents is just so tight to the point of being faintly absurd given what the placement at the treatment center costs, and there were occasions where residents were expected to fold taxi or transport costs into that same limited amount which is really hard to reconcile that with the price point. The property itself tells a similar story where a lot of the furniture is visibly worn and dated, the oven doesn't work properly, and the general standard of the house is nowhere near what you'd reasonably expect from a center charging what this one does. All staff were very friendly and easy to talk to, good vibe in the house overall. Difficult situations were handled well by staff. Lovely environment to have been in. Thank you :)

I have enjoyed my time at elizabeth house and the staff are really good and have got time for you when you need them and the other people that have been in here have been really good and we help each other out when needed and I would recommend this place as well

The staff were incredibly kind and supportive at all times, the expertise was helpful and person-centred. Cannot recommend enough

In terms of the staff members and the therapeutic treatments….it was amazing, 🤩!! I got so much more from my time spent in secondary rehab than I’d than I’d ever imagined: so thanku EH crew! However I experienced some dissatisfaction with the facility and therefore feel unable to award full starts for my overall experience.

Staff amazing, therapy is good. I've really enjoyed my time here and found it very beneficial to my recovery. Transport terrible taxis nearly always late. Mini bus not in use unfortunately so this massively affected outings and going to fellowship meetings.

There were no trips out which was disappointing as I expected this to a weekly event. The kitchen oven was broken for my whole stay. Staff however were faultless and my room was perfect.
