Very happy with the care received at Primrose Lodge.

I entered Primrose Lodge within a few days of asking for help. The admissions process was as far I recall smooth and I received a warm welcome from the established clients. The staff have been amazing (within the constraints of boundaries set). I take my hat off to Paula, Barrie, Carole and Kim for their support working under at times what must have been difficult conditions (see below). Barney, Gary and Another Kim stood out as amazing therapists, from my perspective. The weekly programme included various meditation/relaxation sessions which were excellent. The accommodation sits besides a busy main road (which did not bother me). My room was fit for purpose, with en-suite facilities. The dining and “sitting” areas are easily accessible, and the latter light and airy with a conservatory area where we played uno, scrabble and chess most evenings, after the 8pm meetings. The atmosphere within the house was amazing and it has been a privilege to witness almost miraculous transformations in Both the physical and mental appearance of fellow residents over the last month, especially those on stay of 28 days (like mine). There were a few minor niggles. There was obviously a staffing issue (both with therapists but especially support staff) and several agency staff coming and going especially during my 2nd 2 weeks. This added pressure I think to the system for obvious reasons. The manager left giving us about an hours notice at the end of my 2nd week, I think and Jonny took over. I think that he has quite a job on his hands but I can see that he is focussed and I have no doubt that the staffing issues will be sorted. Overall I would highly recommend Primrose lodge at its price level. If you want luxury you will need to spend a lot more. The key ingredient is group therapy and step work and that worked well. I found the food mostly good to excellent, and never lacking in quantity, or variety. Thank you Chefs.

Primrose Lodge has changed my life. I am so grateful for everything I have learned here and the tools I have to live a clean and sober life. The staff are second to none and are all friendly and approachable and have helped me emmensely through tough times. This experience has been amazing and I will never forget it. Thank you so much for everything.

When I first arrived I was skeptical about recovery and treatment and now I'm leaving with a new sense of life and a better understanding of my disease and the tools to live a healthy productive future! Primrose Lodge as given me a new found freedom!

Primrose Lodge has provided me with a solid foundation to continue my journey in recovery. I have been reminded of all the resources that I can use to maintain a happy, sober and clean life.

Where do I even start. I am humbled to be completing my induction back into life. From an addict in the true meaning of the word, I leave here with my eyes finally open. I have gone from a scared atheist with little outlook on life and no love for myself. To someone who has found his final form of higher power, filled with self love and an understand of why I didn't have it. I wish all people could go through this journey. I cannot thank the staff enough. You are all wonderful and I love you guys. Thank you Alf

I am feeling completely optimistic about my life now. I arrived here wanting to die, feeling completely hopeless. Primrose Lodge has taught me a great deal about how to handle life on the outside without needing to pick up.
