About Pride In Health

Pride In Health is an online, UK based trans led and community rooted service offering remote healthcare support for trans, non binary, and intersex adults aged eighteen and over.

We work under informed consent and harm reduction models, helping people connect with trusted UK registered healthcare professionals through a multidisciplinary team. Everything we do is shaped by the needs of our community and grounded in care that is flexible, accessible, and affirming.

We currently offer three main pathways:

Flexible Support is for those who want short term or one off care. This might include counselling, blood testing, hormone related advice, or formal letters, without needing to commit to long term treatment.

Prescribing Support offers structured access to hormone therapy, including clinical and psychological intake, blood monitoring, treatment planning, and prescribing through experienced UK registered clinicians.

Shared Care helps clients move their hormone care to their NHS GP after a period of stable private support, with continued input from the independent team working with Pride In Health.

All services are delivered remotely using a secure online system. Clients can manage their bookings, upload documentation, and receive prescriptions digitally in a way that keeps them in control of their care.

Initial assessments were thorough and the clinicians were kind and understanding. Prescription costs seem affordable and my first prescribed medications were a slight improvement to before. My second prescription was not approved/provided on time and rationing medications/running out for a few days has caused some stress I had bad withdrawal/negative wellbeing from being requested to stop a previous medication, I feel this was somewhat unavoidable but I was not informed of what to expect stopping that med and left to work out the cause of the feelings on my own

Thank you for taking the time to share this. It’s lovely to hear that your initial assessments felt thorough and that you found the clinicians kind and understanding. I’m also really glad your first prescription felt like an improvement for you 💛 I’m sorry to hear about the stress around the timing of your second prescription, and the impact you felt when stopping your previous medication. I completely understand how difficult that would have been, and it’s never the experience we want anyone to have. While we can’t discuss personal details here, I want you to know that we take feedback like this seriously and always look at where things may have fallen short so we can improve. You should never feel left alone to figure things out when something changes with your treatment. Our team is always here if you need support, reassurance, or if something doesn’t feel right. Please reach out to us at services@prideinhealth.co.uk so we can talk things through properly and make sure you feel fully supported going forward 🌈

Super friendly and helpful practitioners, really felt listened to and like my needs were being taken into account properly. A bit hard to get an appointment because of oversubscription, but the appointments didnt feel rushed or like i was being pressured into anything. Great experience overall.

Thank you so much for your lovely words 💜 I’m really glad to hear you felt listened to and supported, and that your experience with the clinicians felt positive and unrushed. I completely understand it can sometimes be a little tricky to get an appointment when things are busy, and we’re working hard behind the scenes to bring in additional experienced clinicians so we can open up more availability soon. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, it means a lot to us and helps us keep improving what we do.

I needed my bloods reviewed at three months on T. I needed to prompt PIH to set the process off, which was fine but unfortunately my blood results weren't straight forward so needed more time to get reviewed and get things sorted out before my script could be issued. PIH did pull out the stops and got everything sorted in time, so I am grateful. They now have provided a helpful flow chart so I know what to expect at each milestone. All good.

Thank you so much for sharing this, and I’m really glad everything was arranged in time 😊 It’s lovely to hear the new flow chart has been helpful too. I completely understand how it can feel when things take a little longer than expected, and I really appreciate your patience while the clinicians made sure everything was safe and ready. Following your review, we’ve since updated our prescription and blood test reminders so they now go out 5 weeks before your next prescription is due, instead of 4, just to give a little more time to get everything sorted ahead of schedule. Really appreciate your feedback, and It's lovely to be supporting you on your journey 💜

I've had, and continue to have, a really positive experience with Pride in Health. Everyone I've spoken to has been so dedicated and kind. I've felt so understood and at ease, which is special to me as I've never experienced feeling this way from healthcare providers before. When I've struggled to interpret information due to my autism, the team has always been so patient and helpful and quick to answer my queries. I recall when I first reached out with questions, I was sent back a super in depth answer, answering questions I didn't even know I had. The work they do is fantastic. Thank you!

I really can't recommend Pride in Health enough. After wanting to pursue HRT (mircodosing testosterone) for about 4 years, I was pretty anxious to start navigating the private route after giving up waiting for an NHS appointment. I had in fact initially already booked an assessment with a different private clinic, but after reading more recommendations about PinH I decided to cancel my other assessment and switch to them and I am so happy I did! The team has been truly fantastic - the response time to any queries (and I've had many) has been very fast, often in a few hours, or at most a couple of days. My initial assessment was a really affirming experience - the assessor was incredibly kind, understanding, and I walked away feeling more affirmed in my identity rather than feeling I was being diagnosed with something 'faulty'. The PinH team were amazing with trying to move my appointments along as quickly as possible, despite some curveballs, as I was going away for a month and trying to pick up my prescription before then. In all, PinH has really offered truly affirming trans healthcare, rather than anything just trying to profit of gender affirming care - the fact it seems to be the quickest and cheapest private route too on top of everything else is really just amazing. Thank you!! <3

Researchers Publish a Response to the Sullivan Review

We have published a new blog post summarising Todd and Callard’s peer reviewed critical response to the UK Sullivan Review into sex and gender in research and data. We explain what the Sullivan Review recommends, and highlight Todd and Callard’s argument that a binary, sex at birth centred approach risks excluding trans, nnon-binary, intersex, and gender diverse people from research and public data, with consequences for evidence quality, policy and practice.
