MLT, or micropulse diode laser trabeculoplasty, offers patients improved aftercare and outcomes for glaucoma treatment, as the lasers involved switch wavelengths during treatment and provide many rapid, short pulses of energy, which is designed to reduce inflammation and swelling and improves patient safety.

Prior to my initial appointment for my laser eye surgery, I was hesitant, to say the least. But speaking from the optometrists to the consultants I felt more reassured about the entire procedure, with each professional happy to answer any question, however trivial, without any complaint. I believe the booklet that I was given prior to the surgery, was informative, which included vital information about what to do prior to surgery, to the aftercare that was required, following the surgery. It was important to give to clients who wanted to know recover, as quickly as possible. During the entire surgery, I felt it was smooth and seamless, I was shocked I only felt mild discomfort and that the entire procedure only lasted less than half an hour. The aftercare was second to none, with the team placing great importance to arrange regular check-ups, following surgery. From the eyedrops provided to the test that was done, I believed it significantly aided my recovery, reassured about the symptoms I experienced following surgery was normal and manageable, with the optometrist provided vital self managing tips to reduce the intensity of the symptoms. The only improvement I would suggest, would be to perform different post-surgery test, as clients may get used to the same block of writing and letter reading, if they are performed each time, without any variation.  Overall, I would highly recommend any of my family or friends to perform this surgery at this practice, as each member of staff have gone above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service from the initial appointment, during and following surgery.

The thing that has discouraged me from going any further with Optegra lens replacement was the attitude of the consultant. I found him patronising and off-hand.
