About Optegra Eye Hospital Birmingham

Optegra is a true pioneer in eye health care. Our Ophthalmic consultants and surgeons are the best in the industry. Every Optegra consultant is NHS trained and a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCO). Recommended by GPs and Ophthalmologists, we have treated over a million eyes.

At our dedicated eye hospitals, our recognised experts perform the full spectrum of ophthalmic procedures using the latest techniques and technologies, under one roof. Cataract removal, laser eye surgery, lens replacement, medical eye treatments and innovations all performed
to the highest clinical standards.

Our singular focus on eye health care and consultant-led approach mean we deliver the right treatment for every patient.

We work closely with our surgeons and hospital staff to ensure that all our patients are carefully pre-assessed at their initial consultation and attend a follow-up appointment after surgery to ensure that we deliver the very best of care.

Our reviews say as much - We are committed to ensuring this is maintained by putting our patients at the heart of everything we do.

Terrible, made to wait 2 hours before being seen, patients with appointments after me were seen before me. Not informed of any delays, just left to keep checking with reception why I hadn’t been seen. No communication and no explanation for delays, shocking considering paying for a private treatment.

Awful. Reception staff super rude and incompetent. Other than the surgery itself the experience has been shocking with errors such as incorrect number recorded for me resulting in no correspondence, no patient info provided, no meeting with the consultant - the list is endless

The staff members were all completely lovely, receptionists, optometrists, surgeons, nurses, everyone. I felt that I could ask any question, one receptionist even called my boyfriend for me to let him know I'd come out of surgery (limited occupancy in the building due to COVID-19). The nurses made a calming environment right before my eye surgery which helped settle any nerves I had. All the people I interacted with were really lovely people.
