About Oakridge Nursing Home
Oakridge Nursing Home provides round-the-clock nursing care in a safe and warm environment, based on the individual needs of the residents. Consisting of 4 units for dementia residents and elderly residents, Oakridge is supported by a highly trained team of staff who work in accordance with the core standards of care and individualised treatment plans, to ensure the residents receive the care that best suits their needs and also allow the residents to live the best life possible.
Oakridge serves up to 68 residents in well decorated and furnished single and double bedrooms across, in addition to a communal library and a fully equipped kitchen area serviced by kitchen assistants, with varied menus and special dietary needs are taken into consideration. Oakridge understands the importance of keeping the residents physically and mentally engaged, and regularly organises trips and activities for the residents, and also encourages residents to take up or continue hobbies. Residents who cherish community engagement can also find purpose at Oakridge, with connections to church groups, schools, and youth clubs The care home also provides cleaning, secretarial, and maintenance staff to ensure the resident's personal needs are taken care of. Visits from healthcare professionals and clergy can also be arranged for residents.

The place needs a lot of TLC...window locks broken .. esp coming into winter. .I watched residents being served up dry scones and pancake etc yet they from an era that spread butter like cheese....it's not like the food they get regular is high nutritional content ..sausage roll and cocktail sausage etc ..so giving them a sweet tea or bread and butter shouldn't hurt. A resident does lovely artwork yet none of his pictures are displayed. A freezer would be good in kitchen to have ice lollies on the hot days etc ...TV is just what's on that night ...a movie from their era or music would be a suggestion. I just think it lacks a bit of soul . An A4 bullet note in patients rooms would be nice to see what likes and dislikes are .or dogs ...farmers in past life..knitting bakers etc .....get chatting to them and they have some interesting stories to tell.
As a family we are very happy with the care in Oakridge, the staff always give their best even when under pressure. We cannot thank them enough.
I couldnt be happier with the care and love and attention my Daddy receives in Oakridge. Living overseas it means a lot knowing how dedicated the staff are. From visiting in person myself a few years ago to telephone calls and skype calls all contact with staff has been fabulous, they take tome to chat and update me on whats happening with my Daddy. The time and effort the staff take making my Daddys room look amazing and include him ( he is mostly bed bound ) in activities is just wonderful.
Oakridge is a home-from-home and my father is very happy there. The activity lady is a credit to the Home, the videos posted during lockdown were so lovely and reassuring when we couldn't get in to visit. The staff are kind and caring and it means so much to us as a family knowing our father is safe and well cared for in Oakridge.
