Lung Nodule Clinic

The Lung Nodule Clinic is based within London Bridge Hospital in Central London, operating as part of the HCA group.

The clinic houses the Ion™ platform, giving expert physicians the ability to diagnose previously difficult to reach lung nodules. The Ion™ platform enables accurate, and rapid diagnosis of abnormalities in the lung caused by cancer, inflammation or infection that are not accessible by other means, giving patients fast diagnostic options.

Previous treatment pathways would often require a ‘watch and wait’ period which could last for considerable periods, leaving patients concerned that their lung nodule may be malignant (cancerous). The Lung Nodule Clinic allows patients to request evaluation of their lung nodules rather than requiring a referral, allowing them to be in control of their health rather than guided by waiting times. The equipment available is a pain-free alternative to other options, allowing identification and biopsy of much smaller nodules than ever before. The clinic also offers endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) if required, to avoid multiple visits for cancer diagnosis and staging (if applicable).
