Welcome to Kipapa
Kipapa use psychological therapy, counselling and coaching to help you get out of the world of "mental illness" into the world of personal wellbeing. We believe it's unhelpful to treat emotional problems as "mental illnesses": they're not just in your mind, they're not like physical illnesses, and they're not likely to be solved by medication alone. Having emotional problems is more like being in a difficult situation, where an experienced guide can help you get to a better place, and ultimately help you find your path to fulfillment. As clinicians we're trained in the medical language of illness, diagnosis, symptom, patient, treatment and cure, but we believe it's better to think of life as a journey, where you are the traveller, problems are obstacles in your path, and we are the guides to help you out of the difficulty you're in.
To help navigate this mental world, we've developed software called Psycnav that works like satnav for the mind: when you talk to us, it shows where you've come from in terms of your history, where you are now in terms of your situation, where you want to get to in terms of your goals and values, and how to get there in terms of ways around the obstacles you face. Just as your satnav doesn't just show blocks in the road ahead, but also alternative routes and places where you can get food, so Psycnav helps us identify what approaches will work and what resources will feed you on your journey.
When we use the Psycnav map and think of personal development as a journey, we can put together the different perspectives of CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and other approaches to plan an integrated way forward, that sees you on many levels - physical, personal, interpersonal, and social - and helps you meet all your needs, from survival through to success and spiritual fulfillment, in a step by step way.
It has been a rough year for me that's why I decided to seek some help. Dr Jeremy was able to point out the things that are making me unhappy and depressed and he suggested ways on how to address/approach them; he even suggested some books to read that may be helpful to my case and my journey to recovery. My depression is still here and I still feel lost and unhappy sometimes but the difference now is that I can now manage it and even talk myself out of it because of the techniques instilled to me by Dr Jeremy.

I was in a very bad way when I went for my first appointment. The progress from that point onwards was slow but gradually I found to communicate with my loved ones and learnt to take a stand for myself. I still sometimes get anxiety and stress spurts (infact one was this morning) but I dont feel hopeless anymore. With Jeremy's guidance I have learnt to find my way out of sticky & stressful situations.
I went to see Jeremy during a time when I was lost and anxious, wondering why I wasn't the way I wanted to be. Jeremy has a unique approach where he uses notes, questions and data to keep track of your therapy journey. This is very helpful because otherwise you just go around in circles talking about the same thing over and over again. Jeremy gave me plenty of space to explore my own answers but at the same, he was encouraging, supportive and very warm. Previous therapists that I visited either showed no personality at all or they didn't give enough space for me to come up with my own answers nudging towards a certain conclusion. My time with Jeremy was definitely the most effective therapy I ever had. I found him through luck and I'm very grateful for that. I am mentally the strongest I have been in a long time though I deeply miss our conversations and weekly sessions.
I would highly recommend Kipapa. They are extremely friendly and make you feel very comfortable in their presence. Kipapa helped me in more ways than one.

Jeremy is likeable, intelligent, kind and a great listener. I like the way he tailored each session to my needs and was very flexible about being available at a range of times to meet up, especially when I wanted to see him very regularly. Jeremy has experience of a wide range of situations and when it came to my pending redundancy he was knowledgeable about talking me through options. Some of the sessions were very interactive, which was my preference, so I got a lot of value from my sessions and seeing him was a far cry from the type of counselling I abhor - talking into a vacuum! Thoroughly recommended!

My experience was great, Jeremy was always very profesional, friendly and gave great advises. I felt a huge difference in me from when I started my sessions and how I was progressing until the very last one. I am feeling much better about myself, my mindset and who I am as a person. Helped to answer quite a few questions that were troubling me and overall I would highly recommend Jeremy.
Jeremy is an empathetic open, patient and very smart individual. He listened well and I had no issues talking to him about my problems. I think his suggestions helped and I found the whole process largely helpful. Six months on or so I am no longer worried about depression and I count the tools jeremy started to share with me quite important in helping me to capture and adjust when depressive storms crash in. I feel better armed to deal with future wobbles and the record looks good so far. If I needed a councillor again I would use him.
A great professional service in a professional environments. Jeremy helped me making sense of my thoughts and feelings through a particularly challenging phase of my life.
