In 2020, on the recommendation of a friend, I installed a Howz remote monitoring system in the home of my elderly stepmother, who was physically frail though mentally fully alert. I live 35 miles away and couldn't visit every day, and it was helpful to have an unobtrusive way of being alerted to any departures from the normal daily routine. We used the system for almost four years, until my stepmother's final illness in late 2023, and it was a significant factor in enabling her to continue living in the family home as she wished rather than going into a care home. It was good value and I would use it again if the need arose.

Howz provided me with peace of mind while my mother's health was deteriorating at home. Indeed, I was alerted to at least one specific issue much earlier as a result of the Howz system. Note that the system was easy to install and was entirely non-invasive.

Basic functionality works very well. Have had no problem with any sensors and the original batteries still work after a couple of years. Provides peace of mind. Issue with mobile app: it logs me out of the app about once a week without notifying me that it has done this. I therefore have to continuously check the app since I may miss alerts whilst it is logged out. Suggestion for enhancement: provide an 'emergency red button' as part of the suite of sensors. This would trigger an immediate alert via the app when pressed. I've had to purchase a separate one (using a different app - Tuya).

I use Howz to "keep an eye" on my 91yr old Mum who lives 200 miles away. It has been a great reassurance to both of us and also enables me to be sure her heating is working OK, that she is up and about as usual, that the front door is not left open and other minor things like making sure I only phone her when I know she's somewhere in her house where the phone is easily accessible. It's over two years since I installed the sensors and they are all still running on their original batteries. The system has been very reliable over this period. The app works well and the ability to use the system as a low tech burglar alarm for her house when she comes to stay with us is also handy.

I have found Howz to be an extremely useful system with excellent customer service. As my sister and I do not live near dad, it provides peace of mind that we can see he is moving around the house. At the moment he does not have sensors upstairs and it would be helpful to provide more cover.
