Helping at home

Helping at Home is a family-run home care provider supporting older people and adults with additional care needs to remain in their own homes. Based in Newark-on-Trent, the service delivers care across parts of Nottinghamshire and South Lincolnshire, with support planned around each person’s routines, preferences and level of independence. The organisation was founded by Andy Griffin in 2021 and draws on the values he associates with his grandparents, Ken and Doris, including respect, warmth and doing things properly.

Available services include personal care, companionship, dementia care, respite care, hospital discharge support, overnight care, live-in care, medication support, complex care, continence care and palliative or end-of-life care. Care plans are overseen by Registered Manager Courtney Pike and are reviewed as a person’s circumstances or support requirements change.

Helping at Home directly employs its carers rather than using agency staff. Clients are supported by a small team of familiar carers, with matching based on location, care requirements and personality. The service also works with families and other healthcare professionals, including GPs, community nurses and hospice teams, where coordinated support is required.
