Granville Lodge

Granville Lodge in Hartlepool supports young people (under 18 years) who are living with complex life-long health conditions. The lodge is open to boys and girls diagnosed with conditions including a profound learning or physical disability, epilepsy, cerebral palsy or hydrocephalus, or those with other health care needs such as tracheostomy care or PEG feeding. Short-term stays are also available for young people who usually live at home with their families.

The lodge is a converted Victorian home located on a quiet residential street and comprises nine bedrooms. It includes an activity room for arts and crafts, a sensory room, two lounges, as well as a private garden complete with a patio area. There is also a minibus available for outings and appointments.

The highly qualified team at Granville Lodge are dedicated to ensuring each young person in their care feel at home and supported. Children who live at the lodge on a permanent basis have the same freedom to decorate their rooms as they do at home, and are encouraged to be involved in the management of their house and to try new things when they can. Plenty of excursions are arranged so that residents can enjoy all of the normal fun family activities; popular requests include Butterfly World and the Alan Shearer Centre.
