Copelands

Copelands is a purpose-built, state of the art residential care home, owned and managed by Belfast Central Mission (BCM), that provides a home away from home for people with differing social, physical, and cognitive abilities, including those living with dementia. Situated on the stunning Co. Down coastline overlooking the Irish Sea, Copelands consists of six 'households', each equipped with its own kitchen, living and outdoor areas, allowing the ten residents in each wing to live fulfilling and enjoyable lives with access to round-the-clock care and support.

The structure of Copelands aims to provide residents with feelings of comfort and ‘memories of home', particularly for residents who are beginning to experience cognitive decline and memory loss. There are various clues and recognisable surroundings strategically placed around the six households, to help the residents to be less anxious and confused, and also to retain the memory of their surroundings. Copelands is also placed in a coastal setting to aid in providing a relaxed environment for the residents.
