About Burbank Mews
Burbank Mews in Hartlepool is a residential service located in the heart of the community which offers support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, or other complex needs. It comprises six self-contained purpose-built bungalows designed to accommodate two people. Each bungalow consists of ensuite bedrooms, an open plan kitchen and dining area, and a spacious living area. In addition, each bungalow has access to a private garden which is located at the rear of the property.
Staff at Burbank Mews are trained in ProAct-Scipr Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), in which simple activities are broken down into more manageable pieces, allowing each individual to complete things in their own way. Residents are supported in all their activities, allowing them to gain confidence and independence with the help of staff who maintain a consistent and helpful approach.
Service users are also encouraged and supported by staff to access local educational, employment, and recreational opportunities. The team at Burbank Mews work with other teams within the community to help residents develop links with employers and other local services allowing them to integrate more into the community. They also work closely with psychiatry services, psychology services, SALT (speech and language therapy) services, and occupational therapy services to ensure their residents are fully supported in all aspects of their lives.
