***Effective, natural, holistic treatment for abnormal cervical cells dysplasia - invasive procedure avoided*** I had an abnormal smear a couple of years ago that showed I had the HPV virus in my cervical cells and it had started to cause level 1 cell changes. There are 4 levels, 1-4, where (in layman's terms) 1 is slight abnormalities, 2 is more developed abnormalities, 3 is pre-cancerous and 4 is cancer. I was sent for a colposcopy (biopsy) and monitored every 6 months. Often our immune system can clear up the cell abnormalities and virus by itself (and this happened to me when I was younger) but this time, the some of the abnormal cells instead progressed to stage 2. The NHS clinic that had been carefully monitoring me (to their credit) at this point said they've like to offer me treatment - a 'hot loop excision' or LEEP procedure (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure). It is usually carried under a local anaesthetic (a drug is injected into your cervix to numb the area) in the clinic. A pen with a small heated fine wire loop is used to remove to remove the transformation zone of the cervix - the area of endothelial cells at the opening of the cervix.
