I feel very privileged to have been cared for by Mr Hunt & his team. From our first meeting he made me feel that I was a person rather than just a patient, ensuring I understood all that he said & inviting questions. He is an exceedingly courteous man with a warm, modest & caring manner. He came to see me in the hospital ward the day after my operation to reassure me that all had gone well. Everything about my stay at Papworth was excellent. Mr Còonar explained to me in detail what to expect in his calm manner, so I was well prepared for my surgery. The nurses were all caring and courteous, and I would like to give special mention to Libby, Kristina and young Becky. The whole ambience of Papworth was one of calm from the moment one set foot inside the Atrium. It seemed to me that no-one was in a hurry, that appointments ran on time, and everyone I met was pleasant and cheerful. In short, Papworth is unlike any other NHS hospital I have ever been to. It comfortably stands comparable to private hospitals, especially in terms of accommodation and in the friendliness of its staff. Perhaps this is because it has no A&E department, meaning that surgery and appointments run smoothly without having to be delayed by an emergency, enabling it to run like clockwork. Finally I would reserve special praise to Mr Coonar for his successful surgery on my lung. It has been my good fortune and pleasure to meet him. Thank you so much.

Mr Billie is a genuine person who shows an amazing passion for his work and his patients wellbeing, from the moment I was introduced to Mr Billie I felt at ease. He takes time to listen to his patients and he fully explains all procedures in layman's terms which helps keep you at ease. Mr Billie visited me most days post operation, sometimes twice a day. His passion for his work shines through and is reassuring for any patient, this passion is clearly infectious to those that work with or alongside him and he is a true professional in all aspects. Mr Patrini is an excellent surgeon and was particularly good at explaining a surgical procedure to my wife, the reasons for doing it and then the technicalities of it in a comprehensive way which was deeply reassuring. He invited as many questions as we wanted to ensure our comprehensive understanding, and kept in contact during the whole episode through to complete recovery. He has a warm, open and friendly manner which induces huge confidence.
