After a warning from the neurosurgeon & oncologist who had been monitoring the regrowth of my meningioma in September 2023 that it required surgery & as it was a second operation it was at high risk of stroke, bleeding, bone infection, going through old scar tissue, the tumour was pressing against a large vein. My daughter suggested I sought a second opinion, we chose Mr Shoakazemi who also specialises in my type of brain tumour.  He confirmed…the risks were very high indeed, the brain tumour had grown too big for fractionated radiotherapy and surgery through the old wound of some 20 + years ago was the only option. We found Mr Shoakazemi to be extremely approachable, professional, calm, warm & informative.  I feel incredibly lucky to have had the faith on a date said to be the unluckiest day in the yearly calendar …Friday 13th October to undergo surgery with such a gifted neurosurgeon. I am (thankfully to Mr Shoakazemi) walking straight, talking straight & feeling fully blessed.

Mr Sayal is an excellent communicator and takes the time and trouble not only to explain the medical condition clearly but to set out options and likely outcomes to enable the patient to make an informed decision. He is both professional and caring.

I felt Mr Grover was very informative. I felt he could be a bit more empathetic as I was worried about the procedure. Luckily the rest of the team in the Gamma knife department were very reassuring.

Mr Mendoza, Was Very Knowledge and reassuring, he provided a through review of the MRI and I left feeling happier that my headaches were not a result of the concerns i had Also, appreciating that the headaches were still causing me distress, Mr Mendoza advised he would advise that further referral would be beneficial

David is first and foremost an outstanding human being, he is also a first class communicator, and an incredibly gifted surgeon. My experience has been nothing less than first class, we discussed options, pros and cons, and came to a joint decision. Long story short, after an L4/L5 fusion I am now pain free, mobile and enjoying my life so much more, the fact that it coincided with my retirement is an added bonus....I cannot recommend David enough.
