I've always had a fantastic experience with Alison. Her warmth and understanding have been unwavering and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
Ali has been such a wonderful therapist to work with. She’s incredibly patient and never rushes the process, which really helped me feel comfortable opening up at my own pace. I also really appreciate how she doesn’t just listen, but somehow helps me find practical ways to move forward. Most of all, she gives me the time and space to really work through things in my own way, which has made a huge difference in how I understand and manage what I’m going through.
I have worked with Alison at different points over time and have always found her to be a grounded, warm, and supportive therapist. I feel that I can bring my full self into the space with her, and there is a steady, calm presence in how she works. Our sessions have helped me see long-standing patterns more clearly and to approach boundaries in a more honest and healthy way. I really value the spaciousness, insight, and genuine care she brings to the work. I would happily recommend her to others.
Alison was my therapist on a weekly basis for over a year. At the time, I was studying counselling and psychotherapy myself and finding the course extremely challenging. I was able to work through the issues that came up for me in my training with Alison each week. I found our session and Alison to be very insightful and clarifying. Alison listened and reflected with kindness, empathy and honesty. I asked Alison to challenge me in therapy when we were starting out. Quite the opposite, Alison held space for me and gradually showed me how I was challenging myself unduly. It was a lesson I haven't forgotten. Alison was flexible and understood when I needed to reschedule or take some time away from our sessions. The office space was warm and welcoming. Alison was the steady therapist I needed when I was going through some very difficult times.
I was a bit apprehensive about doing psychotherapy online but it turned out to be a really great experience, Alison created such a safe and supportive space, we were able to do meaningful body work and spiritual work together. I felt truly seen and understood. Alison really understands people on a level that few others do.
Alison is a great counselor. She meets you where you are at and really gets into the core of things. Through our sessions I have been able to move on from trauma and onto a more creative and happier place in life.
Any visit to Alison is always extremely helpful. I always leave feeling like ive been able to get everything off my mind and just work through anything ive been bothered about. I can discuss anything and its treated with care and compassion and no judgement.
Alison has always been the consumate professional regarding my many appointments and I would recommend without hesitation to anyone experiencing difficulties with their mental health. Having previously had a very negative experience with another therapist, i'd vowed to never seek help again but a referral from a clinical psychiatrist to Alison has turned out to be one of the most beneficial things to happen in many years. Very experienced, compassionate and empathetic yet firm enough to gently reign in and bring back those in distress during sessions to face and resolve their reasons for seeing a therapist in the first place. The development of coping strategies and Alison helping to change entrenched perceptions from my past have greatly helped me to survive and realise that there is light and not just darkness. That things no matter how insurmountable can be overcome with support.
Alison will always keep me focused on what I need to talk about with her as I can go left or right and diversify onto matters which are less important at the time !!
Alison is an excellent therapist. Her warm and engaging personality underpins a very supportive therapeutic environment in which an atmosphere of professionalism, safety and trust are very much to the fore. Alison has highly developed listening and communication skills. She is empathetic and insightful, while adopting a pragmatic and non-judgemental approach to client issues. I have found her to be extremely knowledgeable and supportive. She recommended practical exercises and resources for me to work on between sessions. These, combined with the insights I gained through Alison’s highly-skilled therapy, ensured that some difficult issues for me were resolved. I very highly recommend Alison.
