Dr Wael Ismail Madkour

Dr. Wael Ismail Madkour is a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with a subspecialty in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (IVF), bringing over 28 years of clinical experience across Egypt, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. His work spans leading healthcare institutions, with a strong focus on advanced fertility care and assisted reproductive technologies.

Dr. Wael specializes in Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART), including IVF and ICSI, as well as the management of complex infertility cases. His clinical interests also include gynaecological endoscopy and minimally invasive procedures, allowing for a comprehensive approach to both diagnosis and treatment within reproductive medicine. He has also played a pioneering role in fertility preservation in the region, leading the first ovarian cryopreservation procedure in the UAE.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Wael has held senior leadership roles, including Medical Director and Assistant Director for Medical Affairs within major fertility centers in the UAE. He has also contributed to regulatory oversight, leading teams responsible for the licensing and inspection of IVF units across Dubai and the Northern Emirates, supporting the development and governance of fertility services in the region.

Dr. Wael is a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Ain Shams University, Egypt. His academic and clinical background is further strengthened by fellowship training in Assisted Reproduction at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, UK, following his postgraduate training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in both Egypt and the UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (UK) and a member of several professional societies, including the British Fertility Society and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
