Dr. Soumya Harikumar

Dr Soumya Harikumar is a Specialist Gynaecologist and Obstetrician with more than eight years of clinical experience, including four years of practice in the UAE. Her clinical practice covers women’s healthcare across different stages of life, with particular experience in high-risk pregnancy management, laparoscopic gynaecological surgery and reproductive healthcare. 

She completed her Master of Surgery in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at K.S. Hegde Medical Academy in Karnataka and subsequently undertook a Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery at World Laparoscopy Hospital in New Delhi. She has also undergone training in feminine aesthetics through She Matters Academy in Imphal under the guidance of Dr. Savannah Chongtham. 

Prior to her UAE experience, Dr Soumya worked across government and private healthcare institutions in India, including T.D. Government Medical College in Alappuzha and Pushpagiri Medical College, where she managed a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological cases in both clinical and academic environments. This experience gave her a reputation for gentle and safe patient-centred care which she takes into her current practice at New Lotus Medical Centre, Dubai.

Dr Soumya is a Lifetime Member of the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons and has remained engaged in continuing medical education. She has also published multiple research papers in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to her passion to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care.
