Dr. Sema Faikova

Dr Sema Faikova is a European Board Certified Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Emirates Hospital Clinic Dubai Marina with 17 years of experience in the field . She completed her Master's degree at the Medical University of Sofia in Bulgaria in 2001 and became a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2009.

Before starting her current role at Emirates Hospital, Dr Faikova worked as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Bulgaria at Government and teaching Women and children Hospital in Sofia for 12 years before moving to the UAE.

Dr Faikova has clinical expertise in all areas of general obstetrics and gynaecology, including the following conditions:

• Normal and high-risk pregnancies
• Cervical cancer
• Menstrual abnormalities (e.g. PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, heavy bleeding)
• Perimenopause and menopause
• Female genital prolapse
• Normal vaginal delivery and Caesarean delivery

She also has several years of clinical experience performing various surgical procedures such as: colposcopy, hysterectomy, myomectomy, IUD insertion. Dr Faikova also offers family planning, contraception and ultrasound services as well as screening for cervical cancer.
