Dr. Rabia Bashir

Dr. Rabia Bashir is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with 17 years of experience and advanced expertise in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. She is a Level 4 and 5 laparoscopic surgeon and trainer, currently practising at Zulekha Hospital Dubai, where she provides a comprehensive range of obstetric and gynaecological care, including cosmetic gynaecology, advanced laparoscopic procedures and hysteroscopic surgery. Having performed thousands of procedures throughout her career, she is committed to using advanced and minimally invasive techniques to support patient care and women’s health.

Dr. Bashir graduated in medicine in 2008 before undertaking extensive postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her early career included working as a Registrar and Laparoscopic Trainee at Hameed Latif Hospital in Lahore, followed by a Senior Registrar position at Rashid Latif Medical College. She subsequently joined the faculty at Rashid Latif Medical College and became involved in teaching the FCPS Preparatory Course and Laparoscopic Surgery Course at Hameed Latif Hospital in 2015. In 2022, she progressed to become Course Coordinator, Trainer and Lead Facilitator. Alongside her academic and training responsibilities, she worked as an Assistant Professor before progressing to Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as a laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeon and trainer at MIGSU, Rashid Latif Group of Gynaecologists and Hameed Latif Hospital, Lahore.

After relocating to the UAE, Dr. Bashir practised at Burjeel Specialty Hospital, Sharjah, where she completed more than 250 procedures in one year, before taking up her current role at Zulekha Hospital Dubai. She has also served as a facilitator and trainer for workshops covering gynaecological endoscopy, operative hysteroscopy, laparoscopic hysterectomy and assisted reproductive techniques. In addition, she has delivered presentations on topics including IVF pregnancy, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, laparoscopic metroplasty, and the anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system. She regularly attends conferences in the UAE and Pakistan to remain up to date with developments in her field.

Dr. Bashir has contributed to the medical literature through several publications in peer-reviewed journals and has authored multiple book chapters in the Textbook of Gynaecology. She is a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and a member of international organisations including Rotary International, the Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians and the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons.
