Dr Mahesh Krishna Ram

Dr Mahesh Krishna Ram is a highly experienced Specialist General Surgeon based in Dubai, with advanced expertise in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery and the management of complex surgical conditions. Over the past three years, he has performed approximately 750 laparoscopic procedures and more than 1,000 treatments for varicose veins using laser, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and sclerotherapy techniques.

He has been awarded the distinction of Master Surgeon in Minimal Access Surgery, contributing to the development of an SRC-accredited Centre of Excellence in minimally invasive surgery. His clinical practice also includes specialised procedures such as laser and endoscopic treatment of pilonidal disease and anal fistulas, as well as advanced techniques including scarless thyroid interventions using laser or microwave technology.

Dr Ram previously served for over a decade as Head of Department and Senior Specialist Surgeon in General Surgery at NMC Royal Hospital Dubai, where he played a key leadership role in trauma services, day-case surgery protocols, and surgical safety standards.

In addition to his clinical work, he has a strong background in medical education, having worked as an Assistant Professor at Travancore Medical College and Azeezia Medical College in India. He has also held surgical registrar roles across institutions in India and Saudi Arabia, including King Khalid Hospital.

Dr Ram holds an MBBS and a Master of Surgery in General Surgery, along with MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has also completed advanced fellowships in minimal access surgery (FMAS and DMAS), accredited by international surgical bodies.
