Dr. Ghada Ballane

Dr. Ghada Ballane is a Consultant in Endocrinology and Metabolism, with a clinical focus on the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases and other hormonal disorders. She manages a broad spectrum of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, pituitary diseases, lipid metabolism disorders, obesity, and bone health conditions. She also treats children and adolescents over six years of age for growth, puberty, thyroid, and weight-related concerns.

Her areas of expertise include type 1 and type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, MODY, insulin resistance, prediabetes, hypoglycemia, metabolic syndrome, overweight and obesity, hyperlipidemia, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), metabolic-associated fatty liver disease, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, pituitary tumors, Cushing disease, hyperprolactinemia, hypogonadism, infertility, acromegaly, growth hormone deficiency, hyperparathyroidism, osteoporosis, and disorders of calcium metabolism.

Dr. Ballane is a member of the United States Endocrine Society, the Global Leadership Academy, and the Lebanese Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Lipids.

She completed her medical education and training at the Lebanese University School of Medicine (1999–2006), ranking second in the medical school entrance exam and consistently placing first or second throughout her studies. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (2006–2009), serving as Medical Chief Resident in 2009–2010. She then pursued a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the same institution (2010–2012).
