Dr Anna Zickerman

Dr Anna Zickerman is a Sports Medicine Specialist with over 20 years of experience, and the Founder and Medical Director of UPANDRUNNING Dubai. Born in Sweden and raised in Dubai, Dr Zickerman completed her medical degree at the University of Leicester, UK in 1994. She pursued her passion for sports and exercise medicine by completing a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Nottingham in 2001. She was awarded her Fellowship with the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine, Ireland in 2007 and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ireland.

Throughout her career, Dr Zickerman has worked in primary care musculoskeletal clinics across the UK, forging strong affiliations with renowned sports teams such as Leicester City FC, Leicester Tigers RFC, and Loughborough Athletics. She continues to serve as a Sports Medicine Physician for the DP World Tour, as well as working with the medical team at the Olympics Games in London in 2012.

Dr Zickerman’s exceptional contributions to the healthcare industry have earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious title of the most Distinguished Leader in Healthcare at the Dubai Health Authority annual Awards. Her passion for anything related to the musculoskeletal system drives her professional endeavours, with a particular interest in ultrasound scanning. Over time, she has gained a reputation for providing invaluable insights as a ‘final opinion’ for challenging cases, expertly resolving complex injuries, musculoskeletal pain syndromes, and functional limitations.

As the Founder and Medical Director of UPANDRUNNING Dubai, Dr Zickerman is committed to providing excellent healthcare, coupled with her expertise in musculoskeletal health and diagnostic techniques like ultrasound scanning.
